How you play Elemental Shaman

Burn with lava, zap with lightning, and spend Maelstrom on a big hit before the bar is full.

Your buttons, most important first

  1. Your big moment, every 2 to 3 minutes: Stormkeeper, then Ancestral Swiftness, then Ascendance. In between, the first two whenever ready.
  2. Keep Flame Shock on the target. Renew it when less than 6 seconds are left.
  3. Lava Burst whenever it is ready and Flame Shock is on the target.
  4. Spend Maelstrom on Elemental Blast (or Earth Shock) before the bar is full.
  5. Nothing else ready? Lightning Bolt.
More enemies: Voltaic Blaze whenever it is ready, Chain Lightning instead of Lightning Bolt, Earthquake instead of Elemental Blast.
Biggest mistake: Lava Burst without Flame Shock on the target: then it no longer always crits.

Hero talents

Farseer (best this season): Ancestral Swiftness on cooldown, then a spell with a cast time.
Stormbringer: no Ancestral Swiftness. Cast Tempest whenever it lights up, instead of Lightning Bolt.
